Jim Geist was born in Smithtown, New York. He attended Polytechnic University in Farmingdale, New York and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering. Jim has worked for Grumman Data Systems, Electronic Data Systems, CAP Gemini America, Bellcore (also know as Telcordia Technologies) and Johnson & Johnson.

Jim was able leverage his planning and computer skills to make a home for himself in the media industry. He is a consultant for photographers in areas of system backups, workflow optimization, and digital asset management. He is an exceptional freelance digital technician with experience on both PC and Mac platforms. Jim is proficient in both Capture One PRO and Adobe Lightroom and has experience with medium format digital by Phase One, Leaf, Hasselblad, as well as DSLR offerings by Nikon and Canon.

Jim currently resides in Jersey City, New Jersey.
